Party Poker is sponsoring a warm-up event for the World Poker Tour’s stop in Vienna, Austria. The event is known by players and fans alike as the WPT Premier League V and will be held at the Montesino Casino April 4th through the 10th. This, unlike a lot of other events on the WPT, is not an event where you will see anything other than super high-rollers. The $125,000 buy-in ensures that there will be a huge cash prize for whoever out of the 16 players comes out on top.Because of this event, WPT’s stop in Vienna has been moved back 5 days, making the starting date for the event April 15th instead of the 10th. A lot of people think it is unfair to move the main Vienna WPT stop back simply for this game, but Montesino’s COO disagrees and whole-heartedly welcomes all the attention that some of the best poker players in the world will bring with them. He offered a statement saying, “We welcome the introduction of the televised WPT Premier League V and PartyPoker.com Big Game VI to the schedule. Coupled with WPT Vienna, these events will make Austria the hot-bed of poker action during the first half of April.”The Premier League event will work like this, the 16 players will be split up into even groupings of 8. Each person in the group must play 4 matches and for every point they record during the matches, Party Poker will give the players $2,000. The final table will be made up of the top 6 out of 16, this means that the top 3 in each of the 2 groups will advance. The final 6 will battle it out and the 4th and 5th placed players from their groups will have their own duel that will hopefully send some of them home with some nice cash rewards. 2o6k4j
