At the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Party Poker will be offering rake-free multi table tournaments. This is not a random endeavor either because Party Poker had a very similar type of perk over this past summer. The rake-free aspect of the multi-table tournaments is great because it allows the winners to receive a bigger payout at the end. It is also nice to know that you no longer have to deal with sunk costs, which is the effect of rake in the most literal sense. When they ran a similar promotion over the summer there were two distinct ways that the rake-free tables would function. For example, the tournaments with a higher buy-in saw the players pay less to enter while the amount of money up for grabs remained the same. Smaller buy-ins meant that instead of a reduced entry fee, the players had the opportunity to make away with more cash upon placing or winning.Party Poker is looking to make moves up the traffic ranking tables because they are currently being viewed as one of the largest poker sites, behind PokerStars. This is a small improvement from a year ago when Party Poker was in third place behind Full Tilt which has since been run out of the industry. In a weekly span, Pokerscout.com says that Party Poker is seeing a little under 4000 cash players. The rake-free tournaments will not do much in the way of boosting those cash game numbers, because they are tournaments, but the increased publicity may land them a few more cash game players. To find out complete details about your month of rake-free multi table tournaments, visit Party Poker. At this point Party Poker has not released the complete details, but we expect that in the next few days. 1k733m
