  • PokerStars to offer new mixed game each day with most buy-ins set at just $22
  • PokerStars is the only major online poker site to offer the less popular variant
  • The new offering has been welcomed by the poker community

PokerStars is well-known for offering the most diverse range of poker variants and so far, it has remained essentially uncontested in that aspect.

The operator is continuing to live up to that reputation with the launch of a fresh line-up of mixed games majors that are available daily with affordable buy-ins.

New Mixed Game Majors on PokerStars 4s2f2m

Mixed games fans have a new game to look forward to each day on PokerStars, with the buy-ins staying at $22. On Mondays, players can enjoy 2-7 Triple Draw, followed by Limit Hold’em (Tuesdays), Omaha Hi/Lo (Wednesdays), Razz (Thursdays), Seven Card Stud (Fridays) and Stud Hi/Lo (Saturdays). During Sundays, the site will run an 8-game event with a buy-in of $44.

PokerStars unveiled the new games via an announcement on Twitter, though they have not yet been deployed to the client as of August 2.

This new offering from PokerStars allows players of all levels to take a shot at games that are considered less popular. The operator will have to exert some extra effort to attract players given the fact that this type of poker game variant usually generates smaller prize pools relative to the buy-in. One way to do that is to offer decent guarantees which is likely what PokerStars will do once the new games become up and running.

The site will also be hosting satellites for the new mixed games majors available for as low as $2.20.

Poker Community Welcomes Latest Offering 1j6y50

There has been a positive reaction from the community so far to the online poker giant’s latest game offering, especially among mixed game fans. With this move, PokerStars becomes the only major online poker room to offer mixed games. Understandably, they are not available on other sites because they are not widely played.

Mixed games are often only played by a niche group, which means there is a low demand for this specific variant. It can be said that PokerStars is taking a leap of faith on this one, but with effective marketing, the games could attract significant interest.

Looking at the reactions on Twitter, some are also asking whether PokerStars is also considering adding more variations such as Badacey, Dealer’s Choice and Five Card Draw. The operator is not expected to offer Badacey anytime soon, but Five Card Draw and Dealer’s Choice could also be added to the list.
