Marking its first year in business, WPT Global recently introduced a major software update to enhance the player experience. The upgrade was accompanied by new features and promotions, including the weekly multi-table tournament (MTT) leaderboards.

Players on WPT Global can now win extra prizes via weekly MTT Leaderboards recently launched by the site. This promotion covers all tournaments, except those with “ticket”, “qualifier” or “satellite” in their title. There are two types of leaderboards available – Main and High Roller.
Players may receive Main MTT Leaderboard points when they take part in tournaments with buy-ins of $26.99 or less, while those who compete in tourneys with entry fees of at least $27 may earn High Roller Leaderboard points.
The leaderboards began on April 3 and the points are calculated using this formula: √(Buy-in x Entrants/Position) x Top 6 Bonus. Players finishing in the top six in any qualifying tournament will get a multiplier bonus which will boost their points.
The top 100 players on the weekly Main MTT leaderboard will receive prizes, such as an $11 ticket, $1,000 cash, and free tickets to high-stakes poker tournaments. The best player of the week is guaranteed to take home prizes worth $1,660.
Prizes up for grabs for the top 5 players on the weekly High Roller MTT leaderboard include a $330 ticket, two $330 tickets, and cash worth $500. The player topping the race walks away with $1,490 in total prizes.
On top of that, the player who ends up with the biggest combined Main and High Roller leadership points from April 3 to May 14 will win a WPT Prime package worth $1,500.

WPT Global also launched three new Sunday majors – the $11 buy-in, $8,888GTD Mini Slam, the $330 buy-in, $20K GTD Grand Slam, and the $110 buy-in, $50K GTD Sunday Slam.
